LEGO MOC - LEGO Buddha Goddess of Mercy 觀自在菩薩 觀音菩薩

Hi , it is my new scuplture based on Guanyin. I used basic white bricks to build the scuplture, blue for the sea and lime for the dragon. You can find the buddha light on Guanyin which I used hinge plates to link it together. Hope you like it this peaceful scuplture :D

Avalokite?vara (Chinese: Guanyin) is a bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. This bodhisattva is variably depicted and portrayed in different cultures as either female or male.

Guanyin is an East Asian goddess of mercy, and a bodhisattva associated with compassion as venerated by Mahayana Buddhists. The name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means "Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the World". She is also sometimes referred to as Guanyin Pusa (觀音菩薩). Some Buddhists believe that when one of their adherents departs from this world, they are placed by Guanyin in the heart of a lotus, and then sent to the western pure land of Sukh�釘at��.

It is generally accepted among East Asian adherents that Guanyin originated as the Sanskrit Avalokite?vara. Commonly known in English as the Mercy Goddess or Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin is also revered by Chinese Taoists as an immortal. In Chinese folk religion there are mythical accounts about Guanyin's origins that are not associated to the Avalokite?vara described in Buddhist sutras.

觀世音菩薩（Avalokite?vara），又譯為觀自在菩薩、光世音菩薩。漢語音譯「阿婆盧吉低舍婆羅」、「阿縛盧枳低濕伐邏」，名號意思為「觀察世間音聲覺悟有情」。為大乘佛教西方極樂世界教主阿彌陀佛座下的上首菩薩，同大勢至菩薩一起，為阿彌陀佛的左、右脅侍菩薩，並稱「西方三聖」，同時祂也是四大菩薩之一。

在佛教各種菩薩像中，觀世音菩薩像的種類最多，大概與觀世音有各種化身的說法有關。觀世音菩薩有三十二種化身，因應眾生的需要而現身說法。祂可以化身為佛、辟支佛、聲聞、梵王、帝釋、自在天、大自在天、天大將軍、毘沙門、小王、長者、居士、宰官、婆羅門、比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷、婦女、童男、童女、天、龍、夜叉、乾闥婆、阿修羅、迦樓羅、緊那羅、摩�遾僮{、人、非人、執金剛神等等。在中國民間，觀世音菩薩的女性形象非常顯著，常被尊稱為「觀音媽」，又因為觀世音菩薩過去早已成佛，只是化現為菩薩濟世救人，故常尊稱為「觀音佛祖」

作品介紹及感想 :
今次嘗試雕刻以純白色為主觀世音菩薩雕像，因為觀音又名為南海菩薩，故砌出藍色海，這些海面的效果都是由基本磚視覺上突顯，加上青龍雕像作陪襯。另外雕刻了觀音菩薩座下蓮花，蓮花自古以來就被佛教徒視為清香聖潔之物，象徵人的超逸脫俗、清正廉潔的品格。用上Hinge Plate緊扣成環的效果，做佛光效果。這雕像是以楊枝觀音手執楊柳枝為其特徵姿勢設計，拼砌是以傳統 Stud on top 形式砌上，這種是以由下向上圍圈拼砌，可以易於砌出較大比例模型，但難處也很多，例如較難修改。楊枝淨水，遍灑三千，希望大家喜歡這個清淨脫俗的作品。
